Tree & Shrub Services

Healthy ornamental shrubs around a Cleveland TN home

Ornamental Health Care

Healthy trees and shrubs are an investment.

Your trees and shrubs represent years of growth and a significant portion of your property's curb appeal. Unlike turf, woody ornamentals respond slowly to stress and even slower to recovery, which makes proactive professional care the difference between a thriving landscape and an expensive replacement project.

Our tree and shrub program combines deep-root fertilization, targeted insect and disease management and seasonal protective treatments. The result is fuller canopies, richer color and plants that stand up to the heat, drought and pest pressure that East Tennessee throws at them every year.

Why Specialized Care Matters

Trees and shrubs are not just big lawns.

Woody plants have entirely different nutritional needs, pest vulnerabilities and growth cycles than turf. A general fertilizer applied to the soil surface barely reaches an established tree's feeder roots, and broad-spectrum sprays miss the canopy pests that do the most damage.

Our technicians use deep-root injection equipment to deliver nutrition directly to the root zone, and targeted canopy treatments timed to insect life cycles. That precision is why our customers see real, lasting improvements rather than cosmetic short-term fixes.

The Annual Program

Year-round care, precisely timed.

Each treatment in your plan is aligned with the active growth stage of your trees and shrubs and the seasonal pressures of East Tennessee.

Early Spring

Deep-Root Feeding & Dormant Oil

We begin with a deep-root feeding that fuels new growth and a dormant oil application that smothers overwintering insects and eggs before they hatch and damage emerging foliage.

Late Spring

Insect & Disease Defense

As leaves expand, we target aphids, scale, lace bugs and emerging fungal pressure with targeted, low-impact treatments that protect canopy health through the growing season.

Summer

Stress Protection

Mid-summer applications support trees and shrubs through heat and drought stress, the period when insect outbreaks and disease most commonly take hold.

Fall & Winter

Recovery & Root Building

Cool-season deep-root feeding rebuilds reserves, strengthens root systems and prepares your ornamentals to break dormancy strong the following spring.

Inside Every Visit

Real horticulture, not guesswork.

Every visit begins with a quick walk of your ornamentals. Your technician checks for early signs of insect feeding, fungal infection, nutrient deficiencies and any structural concerns that may need to be addressed before they become serious.

The treatment that follows is tailored to what your plants actually need that week. After the visit you receive a service report covering products applied, observations and recommended care for the next several weeks.

Every product we apply is selected with families and pets in mind. We rely on residential-labeled formulations, calibrated equipment and the lowest effective rates, never broad-spectrum overuse around the spaces where your family spends time.

Once applications dry, typically within an hour or two, your landscape is fully safe for normal activity. Your service report always documents the safe re-entry window.

Local Expertise

Built for East Tennessee landscapes.

The clay soils, humid summers and unique pest pressure of the Cleveland and Chattanooga corridor demand a regional approach. We have spent decades learning what dogwoods, maples, boxwoods, hollies and hydrangeas actually need to thrive in this region.

That local expertise is why our customers see meaningful improvements within the first season rather than waiting on a national chain to recognize regional issues.

Frequently Asked

Answers before you ask.

How often do trees and shrubs need treatment?+

Most properties receive five to seven visits per year, timed to dormant, growing and recovery seasons. The exact schedule depends on your specific plant material, exposure and any active pest or disease pressure on the property.

Can you save a tree that's already declining?+

Often yes. Early intervention is the key. If we catch insect, disease or nutrient issues before significant canopy loss, recovery is highly likely. Severely declining trees may still benefit from supportive care, and we will always give you an honest assessment.

Will the treatments harm pollinators or birds?+

We deliberately choose products and application methods that minimize impact on beneficial insects and wildlife. Deep-root feeding and targeted, low-impact canopy treatments protect pollinators while still addressing the pests that damage your plants.

What kinds of plants do you treat?+

We work with virtually every common East Tennessee ornamental including dogwoods, maples, oaks, magnolias, boxwoods, hollies, hydrangeas, azaleas, roses and crepe myrtles. If you have a specific concern, we will let you know during the on-site survey.

Do I need to be home during the treatment?+

Not at all. As long as we have access to the property and any gates are unlocked, treatments can be completed without you present. You will receive a detailed service report after every visit.
